Seo – Where To Find An Seo Ghostwriter

Sometimes you have great ideas but no talent for writing. This is when it becomes a good idea to hire a writer. Or you may be a very busy professional or expert in your field that is already really busy but needs an e-book or scores of SEO articles and have no time to write them. If either of these situations describes you, then you might consider hiring a ghostwriter.

There are several sites on the web where writers advertise their talents but the best two for ghostwriting SEO, blog writing and e-books are www.guru.com and www.elance.com. Both of these sites require a paid membership but it is well worth it as that fee (which is paid by both clients and providers) is there to keep the rank amateurs out of your face. The competence level on both of these sites is pretty high. On both sites writers bid competitively to get your job and you can assess a writer by looking at their comments and feedback. However keep in mind that both these sites are slanted to get the providers to do writing for as cheap as possible and many inethical marketers give bad feedback in hopes of getting a discount on their product. Talking directly to a writer on guru or elance and asking for samples is the best indication of whether you are hiring the best ghostwriter for you or not.

Also it seems that of all the brokerage or agency type sites on the web most freelance writers who specialize in web writing seem to have conglomerated on either of those two sites, so if you are serious about hiring they are definitely worth checking out if you are looking for high quality writing. Guru and elance are also the cheapest places to find SEO ghostwriters on the Internet as well.

SEO – Why You Need it

Search Engine Optimization or SEO as it is popularly known as, is not something new nowadays.

Basically, if you want your online business to be successful, it’s a good idea to optimize your website on a regular basis to make sure it’s got a good position in the Web’s top search engines.

Now, what in the world is this SEO?

Thankfully, most of us here, know what it is, but for those who came in late… SEO stands for search-engine-optimization. Now in technical terminology, search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. (Thanks wiki !)

So in other words SEO means if you trying to optimize your site for the search engines, you are basically optimizing your page for those keywords for which you want a high page ranking. Basically, in order to maintain your page-rank, you have to keep on top of what’s happening in the rapidly changing search engine industry. The rules that affected your page rank yesterday may be meaningless tomorrow!

Search engines analyze title tags, image tags, link structure, directory structure, keyword density, prominence, and proximity, total words, total words in specific areas, alt tags, input tags, word repetitions, comment lines, domain name, directory name, filename, etc. The list is endless…..Moreover, to complicate things further, each engine has it’s own unique way of ranking pages, so you need to create different pages to exactly match the criteria of each one.

So, do you have to use SEO?

The answer to why you have to use it is an easy one. You need Search Engine Optimization to be number one, or maybe at least make your site income generating.

For the past few years, search engines would be the most widely used internet tool to find the sites that they need to go to, or the product or information they need. Most people that use search engines use only the ten top search results in the first page. So you basically need to get it done right. In other words, you need an expert…

Now once again why do we need to pay for SEO, when we can do it ourselves?
When you get online, you would want people to visit your blog and for this you will need traffic and for that you need Search Engine Optimization. Now, although SEO is the hottest way to drive targeted traffic to your site, it costs aplenty, unless you are skilled in it. Likewise, maximizing the benefits of an optimized website will also yield lots of earnings for the marketer.

It is not that people cannot make money from the net; it is because people can’t get traffic to their site. This is mainly because one of the common mistakes in generating traffic which we all tend to make is the method of how we generate traffic. The biggest mistake here is that you are not focusing on generating traffic, but instead, you’ve tried almost every method out there that can supposedly increase the traffic to your site.

If we adopt a pattern, that is to say, the first day, you try and find more links for better SEO, then the next day, you try and generate traffic with article marketing and the following day you try obtaining with CPC advertising – then the chances of getting traffic are much better.

Basically, if you want your online business to be successful, it’s a good idea to optimize your site on a regular basis to make sure it’s got a good position in the web’s top search engines. However, in order to maintain your page rank, you have to keep on top of what’s happening in the rapidly changing search engine industry. The rules that affected your page rank yesterday may be useless tomorrow!

With the rapid growth of the Internet, it is no doubt why Search Engine Optimization has become one of the hottest topics within Internet marketing. The amount of daily search engine traffic is staggering, and for an individual who is thinking of marketing their products or services online, the Internet can be a virtually limitless gold mine of potential customers.

However, to reach these customers you will need to position yourself on those same search engines that so many people are using daily looking for your services or products. When queried, a search engine will reveal all of the sites that it has in its database about a particular subject or product. If your site happens to fall into the requested search category, this is called your site or page ranking [PR].

However, and as mentioned earlier, usually only the first few (top 10) ranked websites get to reap the sweet fruit of victory over their competition.

To make matters worse, SEO or Search Engine Optimization is not something new nowadays. In other words, the search engine industry is continually evolving. You need to know which of the major “players” is powering the smaller search engines if you want to know where you should focus your optimization efforts.

In order to achieve this, you need to create multiple streams of traffic for your site. Settling for one source of traffic is simply not enough for most small to mid-size sites, or home-based business sites. Considering the competition most people experience with search engines, not to mention the ever-increasing trend towards ‘pay for inclusion’ with the major search engines, it can be a real challenge to get decent traffic from search engines.

Google is still extremely powerful with Yahoo! a close runner-up and MSN still a distant but threatening third. It must be also noted that many of the smaller search engines plus some paid listings are still powered by Yahoo and Google

Before you can actually begin to start optimizing a site, you must understand how search engines and their robots work. This information will give you a head start on the process of building an optimized web site.

Almost daily, we meet web designers who do not truly understand the function of search engines. This usually results in poorly developed sites in regards to search engine placement that usually disappear. Sure, anyone can build a site with a little practice. However, knowing how search engines work and building a site that meets its ever changing ranking criteria and also achieves top ranking results for key search terms, is quite different.

There presently exist two types of major search engines, robot-indexed and human-indexed. It is important to understand the differences between the two because the way they index pages will dramatically affect your sites position within them. The main idea of web site optimization is about getting ranked on search engines. So, it has nothing to do with how fancy your web site looks or getting ranked in the last few pages. This is where the page rank plays an important part for which SEO is an important criterion.

Obviously it is important to have a practical and easy navigation system and favorable looks, so that you can maintain the visitors you receive form the search engines, but those all come to play after the page rank.

About 95% of the search engines on the Internet are self-indexing or spider / robot indexed. The other 5% are human indexed and are usually referred to as directories. At this point, the important point to learn is that human indexed search engines cannot be manipulated and optimized for, as freely as a spider index search engine can. The good news is that with the advancements in the robot indexed search engines and their algorithms, they are getting closer and closer to human indexed search engines.

Search engines will simply keep on producing traffic forever once your site has been indexed. The problem is getting a good placement (first page) on good keywords and gets lots of searches. This is not always easy, especially if you are in a competitive field. Even if you have a poor search engine placement, you will still get some traffic. Search engines frequently change the algorithms they use for page ranks and for ranking sites. They don’t want unscrupulous site owners manipulating their indexing methods in order to get high rankings. By doing so, they damage the integrity of free search!

Regardless of how poorly the site has been optimized, the domain name (URL) will be indexed in most search engines and in almost every case; search engines will be able to return a web site address when asked. This means that if you were to go to a major search engine and type in your site name, you will probably see it right on top of that search engines results. Don’t be deceived by this type of search engine response as search engines categorize sites based on keywords, and visitors search for sites using keywords not the site URL.

Bottom line, most search engines will be able to return the correct URL address for any site if asked to, provided the site was indexed by them. This does not mean that the site is ranking well.

Once again, if someone searches for your domain name, it should pop right up on most search engines.

In fact, if this does not happen, that means your Internet presence has some fundamental deficiencies. To be successfully ranked on a search engine means your web site must achieve a favorable position over others based on a scale such as the keyword used for the search.

As mentioned earlier, the search engine industry is continually evolving and it is difficult to put the entire process into one article. It would take a couple of pages to go about each phase and for those interested in hard-core SEO, it is better to get hold of a book or a much more detailed article source.

Basically, just use the above to get a brief idea on how and where you should focus your efforts on Search Engine Optimization.

Seo Ethics ~ Is There Such A Thing?

Everyone knows how hard it is to make a business known to people. Businessmen usually employ a lot of advertising strategies just so that they can boost their sales a bit.

The usual ways through which a person can advertise is television, radio, magazines, billboards, letters, and newspapers. But now, there’s a whole new playing field on the internet. Be the master of this new playing field and you’ll soon be rolling in riches.

The internet is like the outer space for business men. It’s the final frontier. Conquer it and you’ll have conquered your business. Millions and millions of people log on every single day. This means that your business ads have the potential to be seen by millions of people. Imagine the amount of advertising you’ll get and also the profit that goes along with it.

— Fighting for Space in the Internet —

But this “final frontier” is so very different from outer space. For one thing, there won’t be just two competitors like there were only Russia and America to fight over space back then. The internet is an entirely different ball game. For one, the net is saturated with people. Even the most bizarre businesses can have competition. And because of this, getting your website properly advertised has become quite hard.

However, even if it is extremely difficult to become popular in the internet, it’s a hurdle that you’ll just have to jump over because there’s this huge pot of gold waiting at the other end. Sometimes, you just need a little nudge to get started. This is where SEO comes in.

— The Value of SEO —

First, let’s find out how customers get to your site. To find something, you would type a keyword on the search bar and then wait for the results to come up. The first name on the list is usually the website that best fits your keyword. This website is also the website with the most amount of traffic, and consequently, the most amount of advertising.

SEO professionals have one mission: to push you up to that pedestal… that coveted number one spot on the list of search results. To do this, they “buff up” your site so that it’ll be easier for your potential customers to find. And by “buffing up”, I mean that they fill your site with the necessary keywords, the necessary information, and they might even make your site look prettier so that it’ll be more pleasing to your customers.

For example, if you sell lobsters, they’ll fill your site with articles related to lobsters. They’ll put articles like “Lobsters for Sale” or “Delicious Lobsters” or even “Green Lobsters”. They’ll put in anything that your potential customers can possibly type into the search bar, as long as it’s related to your business.

— White Hat SEO versus Black Hat SEO —

But the thing is, sometimes SEO professionals can step over the fine line between ethical and unethical SEO. And while unethical or “black hat” SEO can benefit your site for some time, it can be quite harmful in the long run. SEO’s become unethical when they put articles which aren’t really related to the keyword, but are related to your business.

For example, someone is searching for information about chocolates. He finds a link, clicks on it, and to his surprise, he is redirected to a site about lobsters. Wouldn’t that be annoying? However, this is just something someone practicing “black hat” SEO will do.

Just remember, even if such a practice may increase traffic to your site, chances are, these visitors you get through such a scheme wouldn’t even bother to look at the contents of your site. Where’s the profit in that?

Besides, it’s not all about profit. People who avail of the service of these unethical SEO professionals are actually disrespecting their fellow men. So always remember, there is such a thing as ethical SEO!

Finding a Local Web Designer – your Guide From a Sacramento Web Designer

I am a Web Designer from Sacramento, CA, but this guide is for anyone who lives anywhere inside the United States or out. The idea behind this article is to tell you why finding a local web designer rather than a web designer hundreds or even thousands of miles away is still a great choice. Hopefully, by the end of this article I will have convinced you that finding a web designer locally has many advantages over the alternatives.

In Sacramento, there are many web designers – both working in firms and freelancers. It is most likely the same in the area you live. Even still, with such a wide selection, many people still opt to find web designers overseas. The reason why is simple – cost! But these days, it doesn’t always have to be as expensive as you might imagine. When I first took the plunge as a freelance web designer, I set my prices remarkably low in order to get business rolling and put my name out there. My prices were a fraction of what most people were charging for comparable services. Even overseas web designers would have a tough time competing with my prices. To this day, I still feel like I have extremely competitive rates. What I am trying to illustrate here is that there certainly are deals to be found – you just have to look! Check the phonebook and call around. Check craigslist in the “services” section. Contact web designers and let them know what you want and what your budget looks like. Many of them would be more willing than you might think to work with you on the price. Try to mainly target freelancers. Freelance web designers are people who work for themselves rather than for a web design firm and, therefore, are usually capable of much lower prices due to the greatly reduced overhead that comes with running a traditional business with employees, an office, etc.

Even if you could save money by hiring a web designer overseas, you really have to ask yourself if it’s worth it. First of all, what about the communication barrier? Are you going to spend more time than you would like in order to insure that the web designer knows exactly what you are looking for? Are you willing to settle with something that maybe isn’t exactly what you want? Granted, this isn’t always an issue, but many people do run into this dilemma.

Being able to meet your web designer in person can make a huge difference. You can sit down with him/her and discuss face to face exactly what you are looking for. This can be the difference between getting exactly what you are looking for in a brief period of time, or getting something that you settled with after hours of back-and-forth dialog between you and an overseas web designer, frustrating email conversations, and unnecessary gray hairs.

In another article, I will go more in-depth in regards to what you need to know when finding a web designer – local or remote. For now, here is a brief overview:

- Negotiate prices. Regardless of what they advertise, most web designers (especially freelancers) are willing to negotiate to reasonable terms.

- Get quotes from multiple web designers. I recommend at least 3-5. However, you should also take into account the quality you would most likely receive from each one – which brings us to my next item…

- Check their references. Your prospective web designers should have a portfolio of work from previous clients. Use their past work to estimate the quality of the work you will receive while gaging the web designer’s skill level. Is their skill level as high as their prices in comparison to the other web designers you talked to? If not, maybe you should scratch that one from your list.

- Decide on a cost for the completed web design project, not an hourly rate. Having a set price for the completed project means you know exactly how much you will pay at the end and removes the risk of paying someone to slack off.

- Decide on a firm date in which your web designer should have your site completed. If you skip this step, you risk having your web designer put your project on low priority as newer and maybe more lucrative projects come his way.

- Ask about “Web Standards” and SEO (search engine optimization). In a nutshell, having a web site that follows Web Standards means you will have a web site that is efficient and highly accessible while performing SEO means people will be able to find your site through search engines (see my web site for more information on this important topic).

Now you’re reading to hire a web designer for your site. If you read everything up until this point, consider yourself educated and prepared. I wish you the best of luck in your web design adventure, and just remember to have fun with it!

Serious SEO Tips/Help?

For those of you who already have your website fully optimized for search engines, or those who know a lot about search engine optimization: Please help me optimize my website.

I’m not a total noob to SEO, I have my website showing up in google, and some of my keywords provide "alright" google page rankings, others dont. However my website is not fully optimized at all.

I need help, tips, tricks, and ideas on how to better optimize my site.

So far I have submitted my website to local business directories, made sure good keywords are abundant through out my site, and manually submitted my website to multiple search engines……….even so I am not getting the desired results in googles search results Etc…..

Help please Thanks,
Mike

Here’s what you can do to start SEO on your site. Remember that this is a long process and will not get you results overnight.

1) Brainstorm and choose keywords that reflect your site. Try to order them in relevancy of content.
2) When writing posts try to use the keywords in the titles. Using 1 to 5 keywords in the body text.
3) Add or optimize title tags, H1 headings, keyword tags (5-10 keywords)
4) Add or optimize Image ALT Tags and make sure any pictures on your site a relevantly titled. You can get a lot of hits through google image searches.
5) Make sure you have regularly updated content.
6) Make sure your content is unique/original/new and focused
7) Make sure you have plenty of internal links in your website.
8) Make your navigation easy to understand. You best content should be on the front page or not more than one or two clicks away
9) Make a site map
10) Get a fast server and try to slim down HTML, Javascript and flash to decrease loading times. Inline CSS will add to code bloat so try to use a single style sheet.

Links
1) Get quality inbound links. It is better to be linked to by fewer sites that are more popular than a million little sites with no traffic.
2) Post on forums and blogs with links back to your site.
3) Write for other people’s blogs with a link back to your site
4) Get known in your field as an expert which will get you links
5) Use social networks, facebook groups etc.

Layout
1) Is your content easy to read in layout, font and color scheme?
2) Do you have a professional and attractive looking design?

General Considerations
1) Is your site really good enough to be in the top 10 search results for specific keywords? Does your website have something that other sites in your field don’t?
2) Are you passionate about your website and committed to it for the long term?
3) Are you an authority in your field?
4) Do you write with your readers in mind?
5) What in your mind would compel readers to come back to your site again?

Hope that helps for now

Google SEO Update, Yahoo Update, Bing Fun & Google Local Blunder

http://www.SERoundtable.com/ – This week, I try to get fancier with my video set up and integrate multiple video sources, including my monitor – let’s see how that goes. I posted the Google webmaster report for January. There were rumors Caffeine went live, but it did not. More people are seeing the Google blue Jazz interface. Malware is becoming a bigger and bigger issues. Was there a Yahoo Search update or was it the paid inclusion results being removed? Google’s local business privacy blunder caused some overall concern. Google may return the SEO and web design local pack? Bing says they are slow and recommends you spam Digg or Yahoo Buzz. Microsoft adCenter offered free clicks, well – not really. AdWords tests a CPA lead form and also click to call on mobile phones. Also, most PPCers have participated in bid wars, while most advertisers are not afraid to make changes to their accounts. Finally Googlers were working on New Years and Google animated their logo for Issac Newton. That was this past week at the Search Engine Roundtable.
