Google SEO Update, Yahoo Update, Bing Fun & Google Local Blunder

http://www.SERoundtable.com/ – This week, I try to get fancier with my video set up and integrate multiple video sources, including my monitor – let’s see how that goes. I posted the Google webmaster report for January. There were rumors Caffeine went live, but it did not. More people are seeing the Google blue Jazz interface. Malware is becoming a bigger and bigger issues. Was there a Yahoo Search update or was it the paid inclusion results being removed? Google’s local business privacy blunder caused some overall concern. Google may return the SEO and web design local pack? Bing says they are slow and recommends you spam Digg or Yahoo Buzz. Microsoft adCenter offered free clicks, well – not really. AdWords tests a CPA lead form and also click to call on mobile phones. Also, most PPCers have participated in bid wars, while most advertisers are not afraid to make changes to their accounts. Finally Googlers were working on New Years and Google animated their logo for Issac Newton. That was this past week at the Search Engine Roundtable.

Affordable Web Promotion SEO Services

There was a time when all that a man needed to survive was food, drink and shelter. He could do things as per his wish & will and spend a luxurious amount of time in leisure. That was also the time of living in complete isolation- you did not need to know what is happening where. Today, the equation has changed. Not only do you need to know what is happening where but you also need to learn who is doing it, why he is doing it and how is it being done. More so, you need to communicate, to share, to learn, to judge and thereby be judged. Professional SEO services are just a part of this circle.

If you have a business or an organization, you need to be identified.

This need to be identified is satisfied with the need to be promoted. And that is precisely what Search Engine Optimization services provide- identification, recognition and promotion. Simultaneously, with the competition growing stronger and tighter each passing day, what becomes all the more important for the professional SEO service providers, to be availed and to be sought after, is their being affordable. After all, spending the minimum and gaining the maximum is what every organization strives on- is rather built upon, as a ground rule.

Affordable SEO Services would provide you with the following services: -

  1. Internet, article and blog Marketing
  2. Website promotion & Keyword Research.
  3. Competition Analysis.
  4. Link Building and Directory Submission
  5. Campaign strategies.

Apart from these regular services, Web development, consultation and management services too are provided as an additional service, sometimes free of cost to the loyal clientele. The cost that is to be paid by the client is determined by a number of factors which have been mentioned below: -

1- CPC (Cost per Click) – cost is to be paid depending upon the no. of times one clicks on the website link.

2- CPA (Cost Per Action) – cost payment depends upon the action one takes by entering into a transaction with the Website owner like signing up, filling forms or actually purchasing.

3 – CPCv (Cost Per Conversion) – the actual number of customers who switch from one product use to another, after having visited your website.

Most SEO Service providers follow the above as the basic for payments and thereby are self-regulatory to some extent. However, the terms and conditions are also negotiated by the clients to suit and match the interest of both parties.

Times have changed indeed. Web promotion SEO services are the need of the hour but if they are affordable- it adds another feather to their cap!

What kind of web site would you create?

I’m an author on Associated Content, and have recently created a paper portfolio for my writing. I’m wanting to make a web site, but I’m not sure on what TYPE of web site. I don’t want it to focus on ONLY writing. Honestly, I would like a web site that deals in a variety of things, including e-commerce.

If you were creating a web site, what type of web site would you make? The artistic types out there, the business oriented, I would like a web site that is a jack-of-all-trades (master of none ;P). A little something about a few different things that fit well together.

The domain is going to be something that rolls off of the tongue, and I already have that covered.

Also, what is the best way of getting your web site OUT THERE. I don’t know much about SEO, but I’ve been hearing a lot about it and am willing to learn. It seems like Keyword density is best for SEO, so that your web site will pop up more on search engines based on what everyone else is searching for online. The more they search for specific words, the better your chances for views.

Would I be anywhere in the right ballpark?

Since you already have your domain name and hosting account I would see if your host supports WordPress.org and I suggest you install it. It’s a blogging platform that allows you to take your site FAR beyond just blogging (e-commerce as well). It’s free, it’s search engine friendly right out of the box and you can customize it to your liking using it’s user friendly content management system.

I know hosts like bluehost.com, hostmonster.com and hostgator.com make it pretty easy to install WordPress using simple scripts or fantastico. If you have cPanel look for these in the scripts section. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just ask your hosting company, they’ll tell you for sure.

Beyond using WordPress.org (not .com) as your platform the first things I would consider is my topics.

If the topics are NOT HIGHLY RELATED and relevant to each other (supports each other) I personally would consider making separate websites in order to rank better for those topics.

Typically, when building a niche website, you want to find 1 "Main theme Keyword" and 6-7 additional keywords. The main theme keyword is what your site is about and the additional keywords are highly related to your main theme keyword and offer supporting information. This way you have a good chance (provided your keyword research is done properly) to rank well in the search engines for your keywords in that particular niche.

It’s a bit hard to tell you exactly what I think you should do without knowing what type of content you write about and how your current content relates to each other. I really would need more info to give you a solid answer.

As far as SEO, keyword density is NOT the most important thing to be thinking about. Keyword density should be 1-3%. Meaning, for every 100 words you want 1 instance of your keyword (or a synonym of your keyword). That’s not something to get hung up on. Just do it and be done.

The most important things to think about are providing good relevant content and your relationship with other sites (comment on blogs, bookmarks in social networks, join the discussion in forums, provide content in networks like AC, etc.). When I say relationship with other sites I mean backlinks.

Let’s start with the content. You write for AC so I don’t have to explain about providing relevant content to your topic BUT you do want to make sure you’re consistent with it. Whether it’s once a day, once a week or once a month doesn’t matter. Just be consistent when posting your articles/content because the search engines will get used to your timing and your newly posted content will get indexed quicker.

Now let’s discuss getting backlinks. Google and other search engines measure the popularity of your site through Page Rank. This is determined by the amount of backlinks you have on the web and the quality of the site the backlink comes from. The more backlinks you have from high PR sites the better you look in the search engines eyes and the better you rank in the results.

For example, if you created a site around 1 of your topics. I would suggest you continue to write relevant content about that topic on Associated Content (as you already do). However, instead of just putting your name in the source box, now you would put a link to your website. Every time you do this, you get a backlink from AC. Plus if someone uses your content from AC on their website you end up with another backlink to your site. Backlinks from AC would be great backlinks. AC has a high PR. Remember, backlinks from sites with high PR’s are super good for your status as an authority site for your niche.

There is one thing to consider when it comes to creating backlinks on content or articles sites. The "nofollow" tag.

If a site you’re posting content on uses the tag on their links then Google does not count it as a backlink. The "nofollow" tag tells the search engine spiders not to follow that link as the site can’t, or doesn’t want to, vouch for it’s content.

It’s kind of a bummer but don’t let it stop you if they use this tag. Remember, you still get a backlink from other sites that use your content AND the content and article sites you’re posting to get a lot of traffic so you still have a great opportunity for people to find your site through these links regardless of the credit you get from Google.

In conclusion, once you decide on the type of site you want, preform proper keyword research , provide great content for your readers and build backlinks by joining conversations OR adding relevant content about your niche around the web. Doing everything above will get you started on a strong foundation.

If you have any other questions feel free to email me.

Hope this helps…
