Linking Techniques for Better SEO

Most search engines, with Google being the most prominent, rely heavily on a site’s popularity with other sites to determine the page ranking that they assign to any given page. While sites that contain no inbound or outbound links can in fact have a decent page rank with Google, the rank will most likely remain very low and the pages will not do very well in the search results without a good linking strategy and keyword density. All pages should have at least one relevant inbound link from a site that has already obtained a page rank to be properly indexed by most of the major search engines.

As an example, before beginning any research into search engine optimization, this researcher designed a sight for a local community foundation. This site is not optimized whatsoever, contains no outbound or inbound links, but has a huge wealth of content. Based solely on the amount of content and the relevancy, the site is currently holding a Google page rank of between 2 and 3 and has around 25 to 35 pages indexed depending on the search engine. These results took nearly 6 months to achieve and had this researcher known about proper SEO techniques during the design phase, he most likely could have shortened that time frame considerably using the strategies researched in this report. After doing the research for this report, this researcher has all intentions of optimizing it with a good linking strategy and improved keyword density to see how the page rank changes.

The key to a good linking strategy is to provide good quality links that users of your site would be interested in following and that are relevant to your site. Subscribing to linking services is a good way of achieving this as long as it is done properly. Some less than honorable companies advertising SEO services on the web are doing nothing more than adding hundreds or thousands of links to a site in order to raise page rank, and while this might cause a temporary raise in page rank, eventually the search engines compile all of these links and realize most are irrelevant which causes a site to be greatly penalized. As quoted from Google’s webmaster tools website “Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or Page Rank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or “bad neighborhoods” on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links”.

There are also several other factors that effect the outcome of a good linking strategy. Link age, link depth, links per page, and location of links are all factors that help Google to determine the popularity of your site. By having inbound links that have been pointing to your site for a long time, Google sees your site as a source that other sites consider valuable enough to keep linking to you. All of your outbound links should be located on the page that you are optimizing for. For example, don’t include outbound links for web hosting related sites on pages that are being optimized for the keyword “Domains.” Although it is acceptable to design a links page containing all of your outbound links, the preferred method for using outbound links is to keep them all on the page being optimized. Using this method, the spiders will see this page as the most important part of the site and will not see the links page as just another attempt to gain popularity. Finally, try to keep the number of identical links to a minimum on each page. Google will penalize a page that has several identical outbound links on the same page.

Article SEO | How To Optimize My Articles

http://lin.sh/Offer
The main objective is to write articles that are called SEO-optimized. The way to do that is, to create a keyword list and create articles based on your keyword list. The simplest way to do that is to go to Google Keyword Tool. Its free and it will give you up to date and relevant information.
I will give you an example of that right now. So you can go to Google and type in, Google keyword tool and this should pop up. So youll enter this Captcha obviously. But then youll pick a keyword, for example if I have a website thats dedicted to ebay, then I want to get eBay related keywords so Ill type in Ebay and then Ill get my results. As you can see the results came up.

The main thing that I look for is Global monthly search volume. Local search volume is not really relative. I can go into that but its not important. Just look at Global monthly search volume and then click it and this will categorize it from most explored and most searched down to the least searched. So you want to stay within keywords that are just above five thousand. For example, this one is 5400. What that means is, roughly about 5400; you can pick on a lower like 5000 because this is not right on dot; its an approximate. So you want to start there, nothing under 5000, which means you get a decent number on the search volume.
You will not be writing articles in the competitive nature of just eBay. Youd be wasting your time. Thats why I do 5000 because that would get you in the ball park of being able to rank on Google. Now, you pick everything from 5400 and up. Now I go to 30, which means I pick 30 keywords. And Im going to write 30 articles.

Now heres why. These are all basically LSI keywords. Everything is related to Ebay. You can find the keyword eBay inside the actual long tailed keyword or the short tailed keyword. Long tailed keywords are considered 3 or more words in a phrase, short tailed keywords contain two and the useless keyword that you cannot capitalize on would be the one keyword phrase. For three keywords and above, you can almost nail the front page of Google with that. So I go from 5400 and I count up to 30 and this would leave me around the 1200 to 1400 range for these specific keywords.
So let me show you where it would leave me. It actually leaves me at 14800 which is not so bad. But youre getting a mixture from everything– from 5400 up to 14800. Now you have your keyword list, as you can see. We got 30 keywords here and what you do is to start at the top and work your way down. Heres how to structure those keywords so you get an SEO-optimized article:
You have to use the keyword as the title.
You have to use the keyword within the first 50 words of your article.
You have to use the keyword sporadically and sprinkle it all throughout the article.
You have to do no less than a 300 hundred word or a 400 hundred word article. I like 500 hundred words because it gets optimized faster. For 400 word article, you have to use a percentage of 3.5% keyword density. That also goes for a 500 word article as well. With a keyword density of 3.5 %, on a 400 word thats about 14 x for a 500 word article, 17 x.
So use it once inside the first 50 words and then you subsequently use the remainder throughout. Use it once in the last paragraph or the last couple of sentences of the article.

So What Exactly are the Basics to Search Engine Optimization?

Now, I’m sure that many of you have heard about SEO (search engine optimization / someone who conducts search engine optimization), but how many of you have taken the time to find out exactly what SEO is? The following is a simplistic look at SEO for beginners, hopefully it will help!

When actually conducting SEO, and for our immediate purposes it doesn’t matter if you are a business owner in Arizona and conducting Tucson SEO marketing or Phoenix Internet marketing, what you need to know first, is that there are two main focuses. Most often the first step is to perform onsite optimization – adjustments made to your website that enhances its appeal to search engines, and second, offsite optimization – the process of using third party websites to improve your search rankings.

The basics to onsite optimization is not very complicated and demands fundamental steps. To begin you should go through each of your webpages and create appropriate page titles and descriptions that relates to the content. Then make sure that you have good high-quality content that is unique to your website and offers value to your readers. Finally, structure your pages and content so that you put H1 and H2 tags to good use, and main pages are connected with the use of strong anchor-links in contextual format. If you can tackle these straightforward tasks, you’ll likely already be a step ahead of your competitors.

The best explanation of offsite optimization is that it’s the process of building links on third party websites that link back to your website. Also referred to as a backlink, there are many ways to best conduct a link building campaign. One way to get a backlink is to exchange links with websites that are in a relative industry. You can also obtain links by commenting on various blogs, again you’ll want to blog on websites that offer similar products or services to you, and you’ll want to focus on dofollow blogs. A great approach for accumulating links back to your site is to write articles and submit them to article directories. You might also want to join forums, associated with your line of business, and that allow you to input links in your signature. Finally, you can submit your website to various business directories online.

That’s the basics to learning search optimization. Most small business owners can see great results from taking minor steps to online marketing. Once you get the hang of these basics, it is guaranteed that you will quickly become more effective and efficient at structuring your website and building links. Happy optimizing!

SEO Basic Principles

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a very efficient way of driving Organic Traffic to your sites. Organic Traffic is (free) and interested people that want what you have.

Give a relevant as well as a unique title along with meta description tag to every web page as it is one of the very important SEO strategies and tactics. It’s also rare to rank highly for a primary phrase (which can be of 2-3 words) without that term being part of the page title. The meta description tag although cannot help in PR of your web page, it appears as the quote below your listing. Therefore it should include the relevant keyword(s) to encourage your customers and/or searchers to click your listing.

Try to write first for those that want to read and spatter keywords in the text, but never stuff each page with too many keywords. Keep it readable. Even search engines will abuse a page that is overloaded with keywords and the very purpose of your SEO goals are defeated straight away.

Anchor text will help search engine spiders what the linked-to page is about and will help increase your search engine visibility.

Create unique and read worthy content although it is a challenge for the online retailers. If you are selling the same product that another 500 other retailers are selling and if everyone were using the kind of descriptions that is given by the manufacturer, then it would be stale. So write down your own descriptions, using the keyword research that you have done to target the actual words that your customers use, and make product pages that can blow your competition away. Additionally, good content is a cool way to get inbound links and is one of the vital SEO tactics a webmaster cannot ignore and the SEO goals are easily realized.

Using press releases to increase publicity is perfect, but remember to issue one when you have a newsworthy item and it is important to keep the content of the press release search engine optimized.

Build links in a smart way. Submit your website to trusted as well as quality directories. Analyze the inbound links to your adversaries to find the links that you can get.

Start a blog as well as participate in other relevant blogs because blogs are usually full of fresh content, the search engines love to crawl inside blogs. Additionally, it also widens your popularity in a circle that talks about your products and no doubt commenting or answering to others’ blogs can help increase your exposure as well as pitch in some new links. Remember even the most successful webmasters take this as one of the important SEO strategies and tactics to please the search engines.

You may also try the social media marketing where in some sites do give opportunity to post expert answers as well as images. However, the rule of the thumb is not to SPAM you maybe blocked and that tarnishes your image so leave PR.

Local searches can help you grow an audience of loyal prospects and/or customers so submit your site to free local listings with your mail ID and or phone number. Also see to it that your site is listed in local and social directories. It is an important SEO tactic no doubt.

Important search engines offer tools and you may explore these and see what is in store for you. Go ahead and sign up for these to understand how the search engines behave to pick your site such as how many inbound links the search engines are aware of, etc.

Now that you have the Do’s checklist-you may fulfill the whims and fancies of major search engines and realize your SEO goals.

Is there an SEO type download program to diagram a plan for linked articles on a website?

I’d like a pre-planning program where I could kind of make a flowchart of articles and a linking strategy on the computer instead of handwriting everything. I’ve downloaded some flowchart programs but wasn’t real happy with them. They were too technical or not convenient text options. (The only one I had any decent result with was Dia.) I need minimal graphics but I do need some but would like more text and good copy/paste/move/grouping/ stuff in the program. (I know, in my dreams.) Anyhow, are there programs out there specifically for creating diagrams or flow charts of linked article content or even (better yet) the same but with regard to different websites? What should I be looking for or searching for? Thanks for any input. Free would be great….but if you know of pricey ones I can always look for free versions of something similar.
